Marwan El Nagar: Egyptian defender joins Mansoura on free transfer

Egypt centre-back Marwan El Nagar has joined Mansoura on a free transfer from La Viena FC, signing a contract until 30 June 2028.

The 29-year-old, born in Alexandria and standing at 1.90m, moves after a short spell with La Viena, whom he also joined on a free in January 2026. He will operate primarily at the heart of Mansoura’s defence as a right-footed central defender.

El Nagar brings top-flight experience to his new club, having made 45 appearances and scored two goals in the Egyptian Premier League earlier in his career. He has also featured in the Egypt Cup, adding further domestic cup experience to Mansoura’s back line.

Before his switch to La Viena, El Nagar had a series of moves within Egyptian football, including stints at Petrojet and Proxy FC, as well as a loan spell with Raya SC. Earlier in his career he spent time with Ittihad Alexandria after progressing from Smouha’s youth ranks, building a CV that has kept him in demand across the national game.

The defender, whose highest recorded market value reached €200,000 at Petrojet, now commits the prime years of his career to Mansoura under a deal running through the 2027-28 campaign, completing his permanent move from La Viena FC.
