Yanis Mouatazil: Franco-Moroccan right-back joins SAS Epinal on free transfer from SR Colmar
SAS Epinal have added Franco-Moroccan defender Yanis Mouatazil to their squad, with the right-back joining on a free transfer from SR Colmar. The 22-year-old, who plays primarily at right-back, has completed his move ahead of the new campaign after leaving the Colmar side at the end of last season.
Born in Paris and standing at 1.79m, Mouatazil offers Epinal a specialist option on the right side of defence, operating on his preferred right foot. His switch continues a steady rise through the French system, with the defender now taking the next step in his senior career after a spell in the National divisions.
Mouatazil arrived at SR Colmar in July 2024, also on a free transfer, from FC Sochaux’s reserve team. During his time with Colmar and Sochaux, he gained experience across the French league structure and cup competitions, clocking up over 60 appearances in youth and senior National competitions combined.
He first came through the ranks at Sochaux, progressing from the U17s to the U19s in 2021 before stepping up to FC Sochaux B in 2023. That pathway gave him regular game time, including more than 2,700 minutes at U19 level and further outings in National 1, National 2 and National 3, as well as appearances in the Coupe de France, where he found the net once.
Mouatazil’s move, completed on 14 July 2026, sees him officially registered as an SAS Epinal player following the expiry of his deal at SR Colmar.
