Mohamed Boulacsout: Morocco and Raja Casablanca right-back linked with summer exit amid contract talks stall

Moroccan defender Mohamed Boulacsout of Raja Casablanca is being linked with a potential move away from the Botola Pro Inwi champions, with the 27-year-old right-back attracting interest that could leave him without a club later this summer despite being under contract until 30 June 2027.

The Marrakech-born full-back, who can operate off either foot, has become a mainstay for Raja since arriving from SCC Mohammedia on a free transfer in July 2022. His form has coincided with a period of domestic success for the Casablanca giants, including a league and cup double in the 2023-24 season. Any departure would represent a significant change for a side that has relied heavily on his consistency on the right flank.

Boulacsout’s current market value stands at around €700,000, a figure that is informing discussions around his future as suitors assess whether to move now or wait for a potential contractual resolution. Raja, for their part, face a decision over whether to cash in early or risk losing a player who has been central to their recent resurgence.

The defender has amassed extensive top-flight experience in Morocco, with more than 160 Botola Pro appearances and a contribution of goals and assists that underlines his influence in advanced areas. He has also tested himself in continental competition, featuring in the CAF Champions League.

On the international stage, Boulacsout’s profile has grown further with a victorious African Nations Championship and Arab Cup campaign with Morocco in 2024-25, reinforcing his status as one of the more established right-backs in the domestic game. For now, he remains tied to Raja until 2027, but uncertainty over his next step is set to make him one of the more closely watched names in the Moroccan transfer market.
