Molde FK sign Senegal winger Seydina Diop from Ranheim in €1.07m deal

Molde FK have signed Senegalese right winger Seydina Diop from Ranheim in a permanent transfer worth €1.07m. The 21-year-old has agreed a contract with the Eliteserien side running until 31 July 2030.

Diop, a left-footed attacker who operates from the right flank, moves up a division after featuring for Ranheim in Norway’s OBOS-ligaen. He is valued at €400,000 and becomes one of Molde’s notable additions ahead of the second half of the campaign.

Born in Mbour, Senegal, and standing at 1.87m, Diop joined Ranheim in September 2024 from Diambars FC. He went on to make his mark in Norway’s second tier, earning a move to one of the country’s leading clubs less than two years after arriving in Europe.

This season, Diop has made seven league appearances for Ranheim, as well as featuring in the NM-Cup, gaining experience but without registering a goal or assist. His minutes suggest he has largely been used from the bench, offering attacking depth and pace in wide areas.

Molde’s move for Diop strengthens their options on the right wing as they compete domestically, adding a young wide player on a long-term deal. The transfer sees Diop complete his switch from Ranheim to Molde FK on a five-year contract for a €1.07m fee.
