Noah Atubolu: Germany-Nigeria Freiburg Goalkeeper Linked with Bournemouth Move
Noah Atubolu, the Germany-Nigeria goalkeeper currently at Freiburg, is being linked with a move to Premier League side Bournemouth as the south-coast club assess their options in goal ahead of the new season. The 24-year-old is under contract with the Bundesliga team until 30 June 2027, meaning any deal would require Bournemouth to negotiate a transfer fee rather than explore a free transfer.
Bournemouth’s interest comes at a time when Atubolu’s reputation in Germany has grown, with the Freiburg keeper established in the Bundesliga and regarded as one of the more valuable young goalkeepers on the market. He is currently valued at around €25 million, a figure that would make him a significant investment for the Premier League club if Freiburg were to hold out close to that valuation.
Freiburg, competing in the Bundesliga, have given Atubolu a prominent role, and the length of his existing deal strengthens their position in any discussions. The German side are under no immediate pressure to sell, with more than a year left before his contract enters its final 12 months.
For Bournemouth, a move for Atubolu would represent a major commitment in a key position, with the Premier League club attempting to build a squad capable of consolidating their status in England’s top flight. With no agreement reported and negotiations yet to be advanced, Atubolu remains a Freiburg player heading into the final year before the decisive period of his contract.
