Mustapha Toyin: Nigerian midfielder joins Italy’s Oltrepo from Hostoun

Nigerian midfielder Mustapha Toyin has joined Italian side Oltrepo from Czech club Hostoun. The 22-year-old central midfielder moves into Serie D – B as he continues his career in European football.

Toyin switches to Oltrepo after a spell in the Czech game with Hostoun, where he has been developing his game in senior football. His move to Italy marks a new step in his progression, with the Lombardy-based club looking to strengthen the heart of their midfield ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Primarily operating as a central midfielder, Toyin adds energy and control in the middle of the pitch and will be expected to compete immediately for a place in Oltrepo’s starting XI. His arrival increases competition in a key area for the Serie D outfit, who are building a squad to navigate the demands of Italy’s highly competitive fourth tier.

At 22, Toyin brings a blend of youth and experience of playing abroad, having already adapted to life and football outside his home country. The move to Italy offers him the opportunity to test himself in a different football culture and against new types of opposition.

Oltrepo have now formally registered Toyin in their squad for the Serie D – B season, confirming his transfer from Hostoun as a completed deal.
