Layousse Diallo: Senegal defender joins Alta Hirpinia on free transfer from San Cataldo

Senegalese centre-back Layousse Diallo has joined Italian side Alta Hirpinia on a free transfer from San Cataldo, signing a deal until 30 June 2027. The 29-year-old left-footed defender arrives as a permanent addition to the club’s back line.

Diallo makes the move after a season with San Cataldo, having joined them in 2025, and continues a career that has seen him become a familiar figure across the Italian lower divisions. Standing at 1.80m, he is expected to add experience and depth in the centre of defence for his new team.

Born in Rufisque, Senegal, Diallo has built his entire professional career in Italy after early spells with Este and Fiorentina’s youth set-up. He later featured for clubs including Avellino and Bisceglie, gaining minutes in Serie B, Serie C and Serie D as he established himself as a reliable defensive option.

Over the course of his time in Italy, Diallo has accumulated appearances in league and cup competitions at multiple levels, including more than 50 matches across Serie C and Serie D play-off and playout campaigns, as well as youth and cup tournaments. His senior record also includes goals from the back line in both Primavera and Serie D football.

Diallo’s contract with Alta Hirpinia runs to the end of June 2027, confirming him as a long-term part of the club’s defensive plans.
