A short while ago, we reported that the Coton Sport vs. Al Ahly match in the African Champions League semi-final was halted due to heavy rainfall at the Garoua stadium. Despite officials’ efforts to resume the game, the pitch had become unplayable.
In response to the situation, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has decided to reschedule the match for this Sunday at the same venue. The interruption occurred in the 64th minute, with the score level at 0-0. According to the regulations of the CAF, if a match is not started or is halted before its legal conclusion due to force majeure, such as impassable terrain or adverse weather conditions as determined by the referee, the match will be replayed twenty-four (24) hours later on the same field with the same referees. Any disciplinary measures (warnings or expulsions) issued during the interrupted match will be enforced in accordance with the CAF disciplinary code.
