Ibrahim Mbaye: Dortmund eye move for PSG and Senegal winger in €30m deal

Borussia Dortmund are exploring a move for Senegal and France youth international Ibrahim Mbaye from Paris Saint-Germain, with the Bundesliga club monitoring the right winger’s situation ahead of a possible bid.

Mbaye, 18, is under contract at PSG until 30 June 2028 and is currently valued at around €30m. Dortmund are understood to be assessing whether the Ligue 1 club would be open to negotiations for a player who has already broken into the first team but has not yet established himself as an automatic starter.

Born in Trappes and on PSG’s books since joining from Versailles as a youngster in 2018, Mbaye has progressed through every level of the Paris academy before being promoted to the senior squad in July 2025. He has since made 33 Ligue 1 appearances, scoring four goals and adding three assists, while also featuring in the Champions League and at the Club World Cup.

Mbaye’s form at youth level, including a highly productive spell in the French U19 championship, has further enhanced his reputation, and he was involved at the 2026 World Cup, where he scored once in four games for Senegal. His performances on that stage are viewed in Germany as evidence he can adapt quickly to a different league.

PSG, back-to-back French champions and two-time defending European champions, have already used Mbaye in high-profile fixtures, and his long-term deal puts the club in a strong position should formal offers arrive. For now, Dortmund’s interest remains at the monitoring stage, with no agreement in place and Mbaye continuing to prepare for the new season in Paris.
