Sofyan Amrabat: Fenerbahce and Morocco midfielder linked with Al-Ittihad move
Sofyan Amrabat, the Morocco international midfielder at Fenerbahce, is being linked with a move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad. The 29-year-old defensive midfielder is under contract in Istanbul until 30 June 2028 but has emerged as a target as the Jeddah club look to strengthen the spine of their team.
Amrabat returned to Fenerbahce this summer after a loan spell with Real Betis in Spains LaLiga, where he added 17 league appearances to a CV that already includes extensive experience in Serie A, the Eredivisie and the Premier League. His current market valuation stands at around 10m, which would make him a relatively accessible option for Al-Ittihad if formal negotiations begin.
Fenerbahce only made Amrabats move permanent from Fiorentina in July 2025, paying a 12m fee after an initial season-long loan. He has since become a regular in the Turkish Super Lig, making 28 league appearances and contributing two goals and three assists as a deep-lying midfielder.
On the international stage, Amrabat is a key figure for Morocco and was part of the side that won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2025. He is currently involved at the 2026 World Cup, where he has featured in three of Moroccos matches.
There has been no indication yet that Fenerbahce are prepared to sell, and with two years remaining on his deal any move would likely require Al-Ittihad to present a persuasive offer. Amrabat remains contracted to the Istanbul club until 2028, leaving his future in their hands as the Saudi side weigh up their next step.
