Alexandre Coeff: France-Algeria defender linked with SC Delhi move

France-Algeria centre-back Alexandre Coeff, currently without a club, is being linked with a move to Indian Super League side SC Delhi. The 34-year-old defender, who most recently played for Valenciennes, is understood to be on the radar of the Delhi franchise as they look to add experience to their back line ahead of the new campaign.

Coeff became a free agent on 1 July 2026 after leaving Valenciennes, where he had returned in January 2025 following a spell in India with Kerala Blasters. His current market value is listed at around 150,000, making him an attainable option for SC Delhi as they explore low-cost reinforcements.

The Brest-born defender is no stranger to Indian football, having made 13 Indian Super League appearances and scored once during his time with Kerala Blasters in the 2024-25 season. That stint followed a short return to France with Caen, whom he joined in the summer of 2023 after a period without a club.

Coeff has built a career across several European leagues, featuring in Ligue 1, Ligue 2, LaLiga, LaLiga2, Serie B, the Belgian top flight and the Greek Super League, and has accumulated more than 220 appearances in Ligue 2 alone. Primarily a right-footed centre-back standing at 1.85m, he offers extensive experience in both relegation battles and promotion chases.

With Coeff available on a free transfer and open to a new challenge, SC Delhi are assessing whether to formalise their interest as they shape their squad for the upcoming Indian Super League season. For now, the defender remains unattached and free to negotiate with interested clubs.
