Modeste Duku: French-Congolese winger joins Patro Eisden on free transfer

French-DR Congolese winger Modeste Duku has joined Belgian side Patro Eisden on a free transfer from Challenger Pro League rivals RE Virton. The 25-year-old has signed a deal running until 30 June 2028.

Duku, who was born in Kinshasa and is 1.72m tall, moves after one season with Virton, whom he also joined as a free agent in August 2025. His arrival strengthens Patro Eisdens attacking options on the left flank, with the right-footed wide player primarily operating as an attacking left winger.

The move keeps Duku in the Belgian second tier, where he has already built familiarity with the division following spells in the 1ste Nationale and its professional play-off phase. Across his senior career he has featured in France, Belgium and the Netherlands, including time in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie and appearances in domestic cup competitions such as the Coupe de France, Croky Cup and KNVB Beker.

Dukus development was shaped in France, where he progressed through Olympique Lyonnais youth and reserve sides before heading abroad. He later played for Excelsior in the Netherlands and for Borgo and FC Versailles in the French system, with all his moves since leaving Lyon coming as free transfers.

He has accumulated more than 50 league appearances in Frances third tier and over 20 matches in Belgian national competition, contributing goals and assists in both countries as a senior professional.

Dukus switch from RE Virton to Patro Eisden is a permanent free transfer within the Challenger Pro League, tying him to the Maasmechelen club until 2028.
