Franculino: Galatasaray linked with move for Midtjylland and Guinea-Bissau forward
Galatasaray are being linked with a move for Guinea-Bissau and Portugal forward Franculino, who currently plays for Danish champions Midtjylland. The Istanbul club are monitoring the 22-year-old centre-forward as they assess attacking options ahead of the new Super Lig campaign.
Franculino, who is under contract with Midtjylland until December 2029, is valued at around 22m and would require a substantial fee to prise him away from Denmark. No formal offer has yet emerged, but Galatasaray are understood to have identified the left-footed striker as a potential target following his impact in the Superliga.
Since joining Midtjylland from Benficas under-23 side in July 2023, Franculino has scored 29 goals and provided eight assists in 52 Superliga appearances, emerging as one of the most decisive forwards in the division. He finished the 2025-26 season as the leagues top scorer with 17 goals and played a central role in Midtjyllands domestic success.
His performances have also translated to Europe, with goals in both Champions League qualifying and the Europa League adding to his reputation as an effective penalty-box presence. Standing at 1.86m, he has become a key figure for Midtjylland in attack and was part of the side that completed a league and cup double across the past two seasons.
Born in Bissau on 28 June 2004, Franculino holds both Guinea-Bissau and Portuguese nationality, having developed in Benficas academy before his move to Denmark. With Midtjylland in a strong negotiating position thanks to his long-term deal, any approach from Galatasaray is likely to hinge on whether the Super Lig club are willing to meet a fee reflecting his current valuation and status as top scorer in Denmark.
