Kader Keita: Ivorian free agent linked with FC Arges move in Romanian SuperLiga switch rumour

Kader Keita, the Ivorian-French defensive midfielder currently without a club, is being linked with a move to Romanian SuperLiga side FC Arges. The 25-year-old left Rapid Bucuresti in June and is available on a free transfer, a status that is understood to have drawn interest from Arges as they look to reinforce their midfield options.

Keita, who is right-footed and stands at 1.77m, spent last season in Romania with Rapid after initially joining the Bucharest club on loan from CFR Cluj in February 2025. That deal, which involved a 200,000 loan fee before a permanent switch the following summer, underlined the regard in which he is held within the Romanian top flight.

During his time in the region, Keita helped CFR Cluj lift the Romanian Cup in the 2024-25 campaign, adding domestic silverware to a Belgian second-tier title won with KVC Westerlo in 2021-22. His SuperLiga exposure has been backed up by previous experience in Turkeys Super Lig with Sivasspor and in Belgiums Challenger Pro League, where he made 50 appearances.

Keitas market value was last assessed at 1.5 million, but any move to FC Arges would not require a transfer fee due to his free-agent status. The midfielder is now weighing up his next step after his contract with Rapid ended in mid-June, with Arges among the clubs monitoring his situation as the new SuperLiga season approaches.
