Mimito Biai: Guinea-Bissau midfielder linked with move to Fafe from free agency
Guinea-Bissau and Portugal midfielder Mimito Biai, currently without a club after leaving Lusitania de Lourosa, is being linked with a move to Liga 3 side Fafe.
The 28-year-old central midfielder became a free agent on 1 July 2026 following the end of his spell with Lourosa, and Fafe are understood to be assessing a deal as they look to add experience to the heart of their side ahead of the new campaign. Any agreement would come without a transfer fee, with Biais current market value listed at around 100,000.
Biai has built a varied career across several European leagues, including significant spells in Portugals second tier and overseas moves to Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Armenia and the United Arab Emirates. He has made more than 100 appearances in Liga Portugal 2 and also featured in European competition qualifiers, where he has registered a goal in the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.
The Bissau-born midfielder came through the youth systems at Benfica and Vitoria Guimaraes, later establishing himself with Guimaraes B team before a series of free transfers around Europe, most recently joining Lourosa in July 2025 after a stint with Armenian champions Pyunik Yerevan.
Fafe, competing in Portugals third tier, are thought to view Biais blend of domestic and international experience as a low-risk addition, with his free-agent status simplifying any negotiations. Biai remains unattached as talks are explored, leaving his next move open as pre-season preparations continue.
