Al-Taawoun sign Morocco forward Younes El Bahraoui from RS Berkane in 1m deal
Al-Taawoun have signed Morocco striker Younes El Bahraoui from RS Berkane in a permanent transfer worth 1 million. The 21-year-old centre-forward joins the Saudi Pro League club from the Moroccan top flight, moving from Botola Pro Inwi side Berkane into one of Asias fastest-growing competitions.
El Bahraoui, who plays primarily through the middle, arrives as Al-Taawoun continue to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new campaign. His switch from RS Berkane is a significant step in his career, taking him from domestic football in Morocco to the Saudi Pro League, which has attracted increased international attention in recent seasons.
The forward had been valued at around 600,000 before the move, with Al-Taawoun committing above that figure to secure his services. The agreement underlines the Saudi clubs willingness to invest in emerging talent from North Africa as they reshape their squad.
El Bahraoui leaves RS Berkane after developing in Moroccan football and establishing himself in the professional game there. The transfer also continues the recent trend of players moving directly from the Botola Pro Inwi into Gulf leagues, reflecting the growing scouting focus on the Moroccan competition.
The move was completed on 11 July 2026, with El Bahraoui now officially an Al-Taawoun player following his permanent 1 million transfer from RS Berkane.
