Malik Djibril: Togo-Italy midfielder joins Salernitana from Picerno on permanent deal
Togo-Italy midfielder Malik Djibril has joined Salernitana from Picerno, signing a contract with the club until 30 June 2028. The 22-year-old central midfielder makes the switch after two seasons in Serie C and becomes one of the latest additions to the Salerno sides squad.
Djibril arrives from Picerno, where he had moved on a free transfer from Lucchese in January 2025, and now steps into a new chapter with Salernitana in Serie C C. The move continues a steady rise through the Italian system for a player who has already gained senior experience in both Serie B and Serie C.
Born in Bassano del Grappa on 30 August 2003, Djibril stands at 1.81m and operates primarily as a central midfielder. He has accumulated more than 70 senior league appearances across Serie C groups B and C, as well as a brief outing in Serie B, supported by minutes in the Coppa Serie C.
Djibrils pathway has taken him through several Italian clubs. A product of the Fiorentina youth set-up, he progressed from their Under-17s to Under-19 level before moving to Vicenzas youth ranks. From there he stepped into the professional game with LR Vicenza, including a loan stint at Fidelis Andria, before subsequent moves to Lucchese and then Picerno.
Having also featured regularly in youth competitions such as Primavera and national Under-17 and Under-18 levels in Italy, Djibril adds depth and competition in the middle of the pitch as Salernitana shape their squad for the coming seasons.
Djibrils transfer to Salernitana is a permanent move, with his deal running through to the summer of 2028.
