Yanis Benchaouch: Monaco U21 and Morocco U20 goalkeeper linked with Red Star FC move
Yanis Benchaouch, the Morocco- and France-qualified goalkeeper currently at Monaco U21, is being linked with a move to Ligue 2 side Red Star FC as the Parisian club assess options in goal ahead of the new season.
Red Star are monitoring the 20-year-old as they look to strengthen their squad with a young goalkeeper already accustomed to French football. Benchaouch has been part of Monacos academy structure since 2021 and has progressed through the U17 and U19 teams to the U21s, where he is viewed as part of the clubs next generation of players stepping towards senior level.
Born in Perigueux and standing at 1.88m, Benchaouch is a right-footed keeper whose development at Monaco has coincided with success in youth competitions. He won the French Youth Cup with Monacos U19s in 2022-23, underlining his experience in high-stakes domestic fixtures at academy level.
On the international stage, Benchaouchs reputation was further enhanced in 2025 when he became an Under-20 World Cup champion with Morocco U20, adding a major youth international title to his CV and drawing wider attention to his progress.
Benchaouchs current estimated market value is 75,000, a figure that would make him a relatively low-cost target for Red Star as they explore potential deals in the goalkeeping department. He joined Monacos U21s in July 2023 after advancing from the clubs U19 side and remains under contract with the principality club, who would have a decision to make should formal interest from Red Star develop.
