Ibraheem Jabaar: Nigeria midfielder linked with Simba SC move after Stellenbosch exit
Nigeria midfielder Ibraheem Jabaar, currently a free agent after leaving Stellenbosch FC, is being linked with a move to Tanzanian giants Simba SC.
The 23-year-old central midfielder is without a club following the end of his spell in South Africas Betway Premiership, and Simba are understood to be assessing him as a potential addition to their squad. Jabaar is valued at around 500k, a figure that would make him an accessible target for a club looking to reinforce its midfield without paying a transfer fee.
Jabaar built his reputation at Stellenbosch, where he made over 100 league appearances in the South African top flight, before a loan move to Maccabi Petah Tikva in Israel. During his time there he featured regularly in Ligat ha’Al and helped the club win the Israeli State Cup in the 2023-24 season, adding silverware to his CV and gaining experience in both domestic and continental competition.
The left-footed midfielder, who stands at 1.68m, returned to Stellenbosch after his loan before departing at the start of July 2026, making him immediately available on the market. His track record of more than 7,000 league minutes in South Africa and exposure to cup competitions is viewed as a key part of his appeal.
With no contract currently tying him down, Jabaar is in a position to negotiate directly with interested clubs as he weighs up his next move.
