Cheick Conde: Guinea midfielder at Venezia linked with Hellas Verona move

Guinea defensive midfielder Cheick Conde of Venezia is being linked with a move to Serie B side Hellas Verona as the 25-year-old assesses his options for next season.

Conde returned to Venezia this summer after a loan spell at Austrian club Blau Weiss Linz in the 2025-26 campaign and is under contract with the Serie A club until June 2027. His potential switch to Verona would keep him in Italy but drop him into the second tier, with the Verona club looking to strengthen the spine of their squad.

The Conakry-born midfielder, who stands at 1.85m and plays predominantly in a holding role, joined Venezia from FC Zurich in January 2025 for a reported 2m fee. His market value is currently listed at around 700,000, a figure that could make him an attainable target for Verona as they explore cost-effective reinforcements.

Conde has found Serie A minutes limited so far, making nine league appearances for Venezia, and his recent loan to Blau Weiss Linz followed earlier spells in Switzerland with Zurich and in the Czech Republic with Trinity Zlin and MAS Taborsko. He has also featured in European competition, including appearances in the Europa League and its qualifying rounds during his time with Zurich.

Venezia must now decide whether to cash in on the midfielder a year and a half after bringing him to Italy or keep him as part of their plans with one year remaining before he enters the final 12 months of his current deal.
