Fiacre Ntwari: Rwanda goalkeeper linked with surprise Kruger United move from Kaizer Chiefs

Rwanda goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari of Kaizer Chiefs has emerged as a transfer target for Betway Premiership rivals Kruger United in a move that would represent a rapid turnaround barely two years into his deal at Naturena.

The 26-year-old, who stands at 1.94m and is regarded as a commanding presence in goal, is under contract with Chiefs until 30 June 2028, meaning any deal would require Kruger United to negotiate a transfer fee rather than explore a free move. Ntwaris current market value is understood to be around 275,000, providing a reference point for any potential talks between the clubs.

Chiefs signed Ntwari from TS Galaxy FC ahead of the 2024/25 season, paying a fee of 275,000 after his reputation grew in South Africa following his switch from Rwandan football. Born in Kigali on 25 September 1999, he has built his career steadily through domestic clubs before moving to the Betway Premiership and establishing himself as a senior Rwanda international goalkeeper.

Kruger Uniteds interest comes with the club looking to strengthen their goalkeeping department ahead of the new campaign, and Ntwaris experience in the division, combined with his international pedigree, has put him on their shortlist. His height and command of the penalty area have been viewed as key attributes for a side aiming to solidify defensively.

With Ntwari tied to Chiefs for another two years and no release clause publicly known, Kaizer Chiefs retain a strong contractual position, and it remains to be seen whether Kruger United will test their resolve with a formal bid.
