Ahmad Riad: Moroccan-Italian striker joins Tau on free transfer from Lucchese
Morocco-Italy striker Ahmad Riad has joined Serie D side Tau on a free transfer from Lucchese. The 20-year-old forward has signed a deal running until 30 June 2027 after leaving the Tuscan club at the end of last season.
Riad, who was born in Camaiore and holds both Moroccan and Italian nationality, moves across the region within the same Serie D group as he looks to establish himself in senior football. The left-footed striker is listed at 1.80m tall and is expected to operate in a central attacking role for his new club.
He steps into the Tau squad after progressing through the ranks at Lucchese. Riad was promoted from Luccheses Under-19 team to the first team ahead of the 2025-26 campaign, earning his first experience of senior football in Italys lower leagues before deciding on a switch this summer.
Riad has already had a taste of competitive youth tournament action, making two appearances and scoring once in the Viareggio Cup, with his goal coming at an average of 119 minutes per strike in that competition. Those displays offered an early indication of his ability to contribute in front of goal against strong age-group opposition.
The move to Tau is confirmed as a free transfer and keeps Riad in Serie D, with his contract tying him to the Altopascio-based club until the end of the 2026-27 season.
