Yaya Dukuly: Australia-Guinea winger joins NK Celje on free transfer from Adelaide United

Australia-Guinea winger Yaya Dukuly has joined Slovenian champions NK Celje on a free transfer from Adelaide United.

The 23-year-old right-sided attacker, who was born in Conakry and represents Australia, moves to the Prva Liga after leaving the A-League Men club at the end of his spell in South Australia. The deal sees him link up with Celje as they strengthen their wide options ahead of the new campaign.

Dukuly is a left-footed right winger and stands at 1.76m. He rebuilt his career at Adelaide after returning to the club in February 2024 from French side Stade Reims B, again on a free transfer. His performances in Australia have contributed to his market valuation rising to around 600,000.

Across his time in the A-League Men and cup competitions, Dukuly has accumulated more than 60 senior appearances, providing a steady supply of goals and assists from wide areas. He also featured in A-League Finals football, adding knockout experience to his profile before making the move to central Europe.

Earlier in his career, Dukuly progressed through Melbourne Citys system, stepping up from their youth ranks to the senior side before his first move to Adelaide United in 2020. A switch to Stade Reims B in 2022 gave him a first taste of European football, which is now followed by a top-flight opportunity in Slovenia.

Dukulys transfer to NK Celje is a permanent free move, with the winger leaving Adelaide United to continue his career in the Slovenian Prva Liga.
