Ismail Mediouna: Franco-Algerian striker joins Lyon La Duchere on free transfer
Franco-Algerian centre-forward Ismail Mediouna has joined Lyon La Duchere on a free transfer from JSO Givors. The 23-year-old, who was born in Pierre-Benite and plays as a central striker, makes the move ahead of the 2026-27 campaign after one season with his former club.
Mediouna, a right-footed forward standing at 1.77m, has signed following the expiry of his deal at JSO Givors, where he arrived in 2024, also as a free agent. His switch keeps him in the Lyon area and offers Lyon La Duchere another attacking option through the middle.
The forward has already had a taste of national cup action, featuring twice in the Coupe de France and accumulating 86 minutes in the competition. His performances at regional level with JSO Givors were enough to earn a step up to La Duchere, who have moved to strengthen their front line without paying a transfer fee.
Before his spell at Givors, Mediouna spent the 2023-24 season with Chaponnay Mar., having joined them from Millery Vourles, again on a free transfer. His career to date has been built across clubs in the Rhone area, reflecting a steady rise through the local football pyramid.
Eligible for both France and Algeria, Mediouna now enters the next phase of his career with Lyon La Duchere following confirmation of his free transfer from JSO Givors on 9 July 2026.
