Senegal centre-back Babacar Ndiaye has joined Qatari side Umm Salal SC from Egyptian club Pharco FC. The 21-year-old defender moves to the Qatari Second Division team after establishing himself as a regular starter in Egypts top flight.

Ndiaye, who was born in Rufisque and stands at 1.85m, has developed a reputation as a reliable presence at the heart of defence. A right-footed centre-back, he arrives in Qatar with significant first-team experience despite his age, having already featured extensively in league and cup competitions.

During his time with Pharco, Ndiaye made 35 Premier League appearances, contributing two goals and one assist, and amassed more than 2,300 minutes of top-flight football. He also played in domestic cup competitions, scoring in both the Egyptian League Cup and the Egypt Cup, and gained further experience in relegation and championship play-off fixtures.

Ndiaye joined Pharco in August 2023 from AS Douanes, where he had progressed from the youth ranks to the senior side. His rise from AS Douanes under-17 set-up to senior football in Senegal and then into the Egyptian Premier League has underpinned his move into Gulf football.

At international level, Ndiaye has already tasted success, winning the Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal U20 in 2023. His recent performances have seen his market value reach 500,000.

The defenders move, completed on 9 July 2026, sees Ndiaye leave Pharco FC to continue his career with Umm Salal SC in the Qatari Second Division.
