Amadou Coulibaly: Mali striker joins USSA Vertou on free transfer from Chateauneuf
Mali centre-forward Amadou Coulibaly has joined French club USSA Vertou on a free transfer from Chateauneuf. The 29-year-old, who was born in Bamako and stands at 1.81m, moves to Vertou as an experienced attacking option through the middle.
Coulibaly arrives after a season with Chateauneuf, which he had also joined on a free from Thonon Evian. His switch continues a career largely built in French footballs lower divisions, where he has operated primarily as a central striker and is comfortable leading the line with his right foot.
The forward has accumulated more than 40 appearances in National 2, contributing goals and assists across his time in the division, and has also featured in National 1 and National 3. He has shown an eye for goal in cup competition, scoring five times in 10 Coupe de France outings, and previously produced three goals and two assists in 11 games in the Bosnian top flight with FK Tuzla City.
Coulibalys path to Vertou includes spells at Angouleme CFC and Thonon Evian, both secured on free transfers, after leaving Tuzla City in 2023. Earlier in his career he came through the FC Nantes system, progressing from the under-19s into the B team before moving on in 2020.
USSA Vertou have now added an experienced Malian centre-forward to their squad, completing Coulibalys free transfer from Chateauneuf.
