Al Ahly target Monsef Bakrar in summer move
Monsef Bakrar is attracting serious interest from Al Ahly, with the Egyptian giants reportedly opening talks with Dinamo Zagreb over a summer move for the Algerian striker.
The Cairo club want to strengthen their attack and see the 25-year-old as a strong fit for their plans.
A deal will not be easy, though. Bakrar has settled well in Croatia since arriving last summer and quickly became an important player for Dinamo Zagreb. His work rate, mobility and all-round contribution have impressed the club’s hierarchy, who are not eager to let him go.
Last season, Bakrar played 42 matches in all competitions, scoring 18 goals and adding seven assists. Those numbers underline how effective he was for the Croatian champions, especially in a season that ended with a domestic league and cup double.
His current market value is estimated at around €3 million, which makes him a valuable asset as well as a realistic target for clubs outside Europe. Al Ahly will need to persuade both the player and Dinamo if they want to pull off the transfer. For now, the Algerian forward remains central to Zagreb’s plans, and any exit would likely require a convincing offer.
