Yacine Brahimi joins Al-Abha in Saudi Arabia
Yacine Brahimi is starting another late-career adventure, this time in Saudi Arabia with Al-Abha.
The former Algeria international has signed a one-season deal with the newly promoted club after leaving Al-Gharafa in Qatar.
At 36, Brahimi still brings the kind of experience many clubs value in a pressure-filled survival battle. Al-Abha will be hoping his creativity, calmness on the ball and ability to change a game in the final third can help them stay in the Saudi Pro League.
This move adds another chapter to a career that has taken him across Europe and the Gulf. He first built his reputation in France with Rennes before making a bigger name for himself in Spain with Granada. His best years, though, came at FC Porto, where he played from 2014 to 2019 and became one of the most dangerous dribblers in Portuguese football.
Brahimi later spent three seasons with Al-Rayyan before joining Al-Gharafa in 2022. On the international stage, he was part of Algeria’s victorious 2019 Africa Cup of Nations squad and remained a key figure for his country for several years.
