Salif Sangare: Mali-Italian striker joins Saluzzo on free transfer from Fossano
Mali-Italian forward Salif Sangare has joined Serie D side Saluzzo on a free transfer from Fossano.
The 27-year-old centre-forward has signed a deal running until 30 June 2027, committing the next year of his career to the Piedmont-based club. He moves across after a season with Fossano, whom he also represented earlier in his career before spells in Cyprus and Belgium.
Saluzzo add an experienced attacker with a strong record at Serie D level. Across stints in Serie D groups A and B, Sangare has made 83 league appearances, scoring 16 goals and providing eight assists. In Serie D group A alone he has 13 goals and five assists in 52 matches, averaging a goal roughly every 244 minutes.
Born in Bregbo in 1998 and standing at 1.78m, Sangare operates through the middle as a right-footed centre-forward. His move continues a career path that has taken in Italian, Cypriot and Belgian football, including time at Agia Napa, URSL Vise and RFCB Sprimont, before returning to Italy with Legnano and then Fossano.
Sangares latest transfer extends a sequence of free moves that have marked much of his professional journey, including switches between lower-league clubs in Italy and abroad. His previous highest recorded market valuation reached 100,000 during his time in Belgium.
The striker, who first joined Fossano from Pro Dronero in 2019, now embarks on a new chapter with Saluzzo as their latest attacking signing on a free transfer.
