Taha Ali: Malmo and Sweden winger linked with PAOK move
Taha Ali, the Sweden international winger at Malmo, is being linked with a summer move to Greek Super League side PAOK as the 28-year-old enters the final 18 months of his contract with the Allsvenskan champions.
The left-sided attacker, who was born in Spanga and represents Sweden as well as having Somali heritage, is under contract at Malmo until 31 December 2026, but interest from Thessaloniki has intensified following his emergence as a regular contributor for the Swedish club. Ali has featured in six Allsvenskan matches this season, scoring once and adding one assist.
Malmo signed Ali from Helsingborgs in February 2023 for a fee of 700,000, and his value has since risen, with his current valuation standing at around 1.5m after previously peaking at 2.5m. During his time in Skane he has collected major domestic honours, including back-to-back league titles in 2023 and 2024, reinforcing his status as a proven performer in Swedens top flight.
PAOK are exploring options on the flanks as they look to strengthen for the new campaign, and Alis profile as a right-footed left winger has put him on their shortlist. No fee has been agreed and there is no indication that talks are at an advanced stage, but Malmo are aware of the interest and face a decision over whether to cash in now or keep the player for the remainder of his deal.
For the moment, Ali remains part of Malmos squad, wearing the number 22 shirt and tied to the club until the end of 2026.
