Khathir Baaziz: Algeria midfielder joins CR Temouchent on free transfer

Algerian defensive midfielder Khathir Baaziz has joined CR Temouchent on a free transfer from USM Annaba. The 31-year-old moves into Ligue 1 after leaving Annaba at the end of last season, adding top-flight experience to his new clubs midfield.

Baaziz, born in El Eulma and comfortable using both feet, has spent much of his career in Algerian football and is listed at 1.72m tall. He arrives at CR Temouchent having built a reputation as a specialist in the holding midfield role.

The move to Annaba in August 2025 was also a free transfer, when he left NC Magra after a single season. Before that, Baaziz had spells with JS Saoura and ASO Chlef, featuring regularly in the top division and making his name as a Ligue 1 regular.

Across his time in the Algerian Ligue 1, Baaziz has made 130 appearances, scoring once and contributing four assists, with more than 9,500 minutes of league football. He has also appeared in domestic cup competitions and the CAF Confederation Cup, underlining his experience at different competitive levels.

Baazizs professional pathway began with US Tebessa before moves to MC El Eulma and then ASO Chlef pushed him into the national spotlight. A free transfer to JS Saoura in 2022 preceded his switch to NC Magra and, most recently, USM Annaba.

CR Temouchent have now secured the experienced Algerian midfielder on a free transfer dated 9 July 2026.
