Mali midfielder Aboubacar Sangare has joined Aslankoy GSD from Yenicami AK, completing a move that keeps the 26-year-old in Cypriot football. The central midfielder switches clubs after one season with Yenicami, where he arrived on a free transfer in 2025.

Sangare, born in Bamako and standing at 1.78m, is a left-footed central midfielder whose career has taken in top-flight football in Africa and the Middle East before this latest move. Aslankoy GSD have added a player with experience in domestic leagues and continental competition, as Sangare looks to establish himself in his new sides midfield.

Before moving to Cyprus, he played in the Lebanese Premier League with Chabab Ghazieh, having joined them following a brief spell without a club. Earlier in his career he featured in South Africas Betway Premiership with Chippa United and JDR Stars, following a free transfer from Tunisian side CS Hammam-Lif.

Sangare has recorded appearances in Ligue 1 and the CAF Champions League during his career, contributing goals and assists from midfield and gaining experience in knockout cup competitions such as the Nedbank Cup and Tunisian Cup. That breadth of experience across several countries adds depth to Aslankoy GSDs options in the centre of the pitch.

The move from Yenicami AK to Aslankoy GSD marks the latest step in a career that has taken Sangare from Liberty Sport and AS Togo Port to North, West and Southern Africa, and now firmly into the Cypriot game.
