Wilfred Ndidi: Hull City linked with move for Besiktas midfielder
Wilfred Ndidi, the Nigeria-born England-qualified midfielder currently at Besiktas, is being linked with a return to English football with Premier League side Hull City. The 29-year-old defensive midfielder is under contract with the Turkish club until 30 June 2028, but interest from Hull has emerged as they look to reinforce the spine of their squad following promotion.
Ndidi joined Besiktas from Leicester City in August 2025 for a fee of 8m and has since established himself in the Super Lig, making 25 league appearances and scoring twice in Turkeys top flight. His current market valuation stands at around 8m, potentially putting a deal within reach if Besiktas are willing to negotiate.
Hulls interest is underpinned by Ndidis extensive experience in English football. He previously made 220 Premier League appearances for Leicester, adding 7 goals and 14 assists while surpassing 18,000 minutes in the competition. He was part of the Leicester side that lifted the FA Cup in 2021, later winning the English second tier title with the club in 2023-24 before moving on to Istanbul.
Besiktas, who secured Ndidi at a significantly lower fee than his peak valuation of 60m earlier in his career, are not under pressure to sell given the length of his deal. Any move is therefore likely to depend on Hulls willingness to meet Besiktas demands and the players readiness to leave after just one season in Turkey. For now, Ndidi remains a key figure in Besiktas midfield and is scheduled to stay with the club for another two years.
