Al Ahly to hold pre-season in Spain

Al Ahly will travel to Spain for their pre-season training camp as the Egyptian giants begin preparations for the upcoming football season under new head coach Hussein Ammouta.

The Red Eagles are set to embark on an intensive training programme in Europe as Ammouta begins his tenure at the club, with the technical staff aiming to build a strong foundation ahead of a demanding campaign.

According to reports, Al Ahly’s pre-season camp has been scheduled to take place in Spain from July 31 to August 12, with the club’s management already working on finalising all travel arrangements and logistical details.

The camp will provide Ammouta and his coaching team with the opportunity to assess the squad, implement his tactical ideas and improve the players’ physical condition before competitive action begins.

As part of their preparations, Al Ahly are expected to play two friendly matches against Spanish clubs Girona and Espanyol. The fixtures will serve as important tests for the team as they prepare for the challenges ahead.

The Spanish trip will mark one of the first major steps in Ammouta’s reign after he was appointed as the club’s new head coach. The Moroccan tactician is expected to use the period to evaluate his players and identify areas that require improvement.

Al Ahly’s management has been working closely with the technical team to ensure the squad receives the best possible preparation, including completing visa procedures and finalising all arrangements for the overseas camp.

The record African champions will be hoping the Spain training camp provides the perfect platform to compete for domestic and continental honours in the new season.
