Cameroon defender Rony Mimb Baheng leaves Marseille to join Pau FC on three-year deal
Cameroonian defender Rony Mimb Baheng has completed a permanent move from Olympique de Marseille to French Ligue 2 side Pau FC, signing a three-year contract as he continues his development in French football.
The 21-year-old centre-back brings an end to his spell with Marseille after joining the club in 2023. Although he was unable to establish himself in the first team, Baheng gained valuable experience during the 2025/26 campaign while on loan at French lower-division outfit SC Aubagne.
His performances during the loan spell convinced Pau FC to secure his services on a long-term basis, with the defender committing his future to the club until 2029.
The move offers Baheng the opportunity to play regular first-team football in Ligue 2, a competition widely regarded as an important platform for young talents looking to develop and progress to the highest level of French football.
Pau FC will be hoping the young Cameroonian can strengthen their defensive options ahead of the new season as they aim to compete strongly in the French second division.
For Baheng, the transfer represents a fresh chapter in his career and a chance to continue his growth after gaining experience within Marseille’s setup and impressing during his loan spell at SC Aubagne.
The talented centre-back is expected to report for pre-season with his new teammates as Pau FC prepare for the 2026/27 Ligue 2 campaign.
