Balla Moussa Conte: Guinea midfielder linked with Pau FC move from Young Africans

Guinean defensive midfielder Balla Moussa Conte of Young Africans is being linked with a move to French Ligue 2 side Pau FC as the 22-year-old attracts interest from Europe following an impressive spell in East Africa.

Conte, who joined Tanzanian champions Young Africans in July 2025 for a reported 215,000 fee from CS Sfaxien, has emerged as a potential option for Pau as they look to strengthen their midfield options. His current market value is estimated at around 225,000, a figure that is likely to form the basis of any negotiations between the clubs.

The Kamsar-born midfielder has built his reputation through consistent game time in North and East Africa, notably making 34 league appearances in top-flight domestic action and gaining further experience in play-off and continental competition. He also featured in the CAF Confederation Cup and CAF Champions League, adding international club exposure that is likely to appeal to a European recruiter.

Contes time at Young Africans has already brought silverware, with the club winning the Tanzanian Super Cup in the 2025-26 season. A short loan spell at Raja Casablanca during the same campaign added a further layer of experience in the Botola Pro Inwi and domestic cup action before he returned to Dar es Salaam at the end of the season.

For now, Conte remains under contract at Young Africans following his return from loan, with Pau FC monitoring the situation as they weigh up a potential move into the Ligue 2 market.
