Ivory Coast youngster Christ Tapé joins Toulouse on long-term deal
Toulouse have completed the signing of Ivory Coast youth international Christ Tapé from Danish club AC Horsens, with the defender agreeing a contract that will keep him at the Ligue 1 side until 2030.
The French club confirmed the transfer on Thursday, making Tapé their second signing of the summer transfer window following the arrival of right-back Ismaïl Diallo.
His recruitment adds further depth to Toulouse’s defensive options as preparations continue for the new campaign.
Tapé arrives in France after establishing himself at AC Horsens, where he gained valuable experience in Danish football. During the previous season, the defender made 30 appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal and providing one assist.
Since joining Horsens in the summer of 2024, the young Ivorian has featured 58 times for the club, developing into a consistent presence in defence through his performances and regular playing time.
Toulouse believe the defender possesses the qualities required to succeed at the highest level and highlighted the attributes that convinced the club to complete the transfer.
“Powerful in duels, solid in the air and forward-thinking, he has a complete skillset to succeed at the highest level,” Toulouse wrote while announcing the signing.
The move represents another important step in Tapé’s career as he prepares to make the transition from Danish football to Ligue 1. Toulouse have committed to the defender’s long-term development by handing him a contract that runs until 2030.
Speaking after completing the move, the new signing expressed his excitement about beginning the next chapter of his career in France.
“I am very happy to join TéFéCé, thank you to the club for the confidence shown in me! I can’t wait to meet my teammates and discover the Stadium and the fans!”, said the new Toulouse player in the club’s press release.
Tapé now joins a Toulouse side continuing to strengthen its squad during the summer transfer window, with the club hoping their latest addition will make a positive contribution in the seasons ahead.
The defender arrives with growing experience from Denmark and the ambition to establish himself in one of Europe’s top leagues.
