Elias Egouli: SV Elversberg eye move for Fortuna Dusseldorf centre-back
Germany-Cameroon defender Elias Egouli of Fortuna Dusseldorf is being linked with a move to Bundesliga side SV Elversberg as the top-flight newcomers explore options to strengthen their back line.
Egouli, a 23-year-old centre-back who stands at 2.04m, is under contract at Fortuna until 30 June 2029, meaning any deal is likely to require a significant outlay relative to his current valuation of around 900,000. The interest from Elversberg comes less than a year after he was promoted from Dusseldorfs second team to the first team setup on 1 July 2025.
Born in Koln and eligible for both Germany and Cameroon, Egouli has built his career through the German system, developing in youth and lower-league football before earning his step up to the professional ranks. Fortuna moved him into their senior squad from Dusseldorf II after just one season, following an earlier spell with 1. FC Duren.
Elversbergs move for a defender operating primarily at centre-back reflects their focus on adding height and physical presence in central areas ahead of their Bundesliga campaign. Egoulis rapid rise from regional football to the 3. Liga and onto Fortunas first team has brought him onto the radar of clubs higher up the pyramid.
For now, Egouli remains a Fortuna Dusseldorf player, tied to the club for another three years, and any transfer would need to convince a side who only recently committed him to a long-term deal.
