Aziz Chtioui: Tunisian winger joins Al-Talaba SC on free transfer from El Ettihad

Tunisian winger Aziz Chtioui has joined Iraqi side Al-Talaba SC on a free transfer from Libyan Premier League club El Ettihad.

The 28-year-old left winger, who favours his right foot, moves into the Iraq Stars League after a season in Libya, where he featured in the top flight for El Ettihad. The move is a permanent deal, with Chtioui arriving without a transfer fee after his contract in Tripoli came to an end.

Chtioui brings significant experience across North African and Middle Eastern leagues, having accumulated more than 190 senior appearances in league and cup competitions. He has operated mainly on the left flank, chipping in with goals and assists in Tunisias Ligue 1, the Iraqi top tier, the Saudi First Division and the Libyan Premier League.

Prior to his spell at El Ettihad, Chtioui had already experienced Iraqi football with Al-Zawraa SC, having joined the Baghdad club in 2024 following a period in Saudi Arabia with Jeddah SC and Al-Shoulla. Earlier in his career he came through at Esperance de Tunis, earning minutes via loans at US Monastir and CO Medenine before securing a regular role in the Tunisian top division with AS Soliman and later ES Sahel and CS Chebba.

Most recently valued at around 400,000, Chtioui has built a reputation as a hard-working wide player, contributing both in open play and in domestic cup competitions, including appearances in the Tunisian Cup and Iraq FA Cup.

The move confirms Chtiouis return to Iraqi football as he signs for Al-Talaba SC following his free transfer departure from El Ettihad.
