Wilfried Baana Jaba: Trelissac FC sign veteran centre-forward on free transfer from Stade Poitevin

Trelissac FC have signed centre-forward Wilfried Baana Jaba from Stade Poitevin on a free transfer. The 33-year-old, who holds both French and Cameroonian nationality, joins the club after one season with the Poitiers-based side.

Baana Jaba, born in Douala and standing at 1.78m, is a left-footed striker with extensive experience across the French lower divisions. His move to Trelissac continues a career spent largely in the National and National 2 and 3 tiers, where he has built a reputation for consistent output in front of goal.

Across league and cup competitions, Baana Jaba has produced notable scoring returns, including 14 goals in 24 matches in National 3 Group J and 12 goals in 24 appearances in National 2 Group C. He has also been effective in knockout football, scoring 14 times in 22 Coupe de France outings, averaging a goal roughly every game and a half in that competition.

Before joining Stade Poitevin in 2025, Baana Jaba had successive free-transfer moves through Olympique Ales and Hyeres 83, having earlier represented FC Sete 34 and Blois Foot 41. His most prolific spells include an 11-goal season in 25 National 1 Group B appearances and a 19-goal haul from 59 games in National 1 Group C.

Baana Jaba, whose contract start at Trelissac is dated 8 July 2026, links up with his new club after consecutive free transfers in recent seasons, adding further attacking depth to their forward line.
