Mo Faal: Port Vale re-sign Wrexham striker on season-long loan

Port Vale have re-signed centre-forward Mo Faal from Wrexham on a season-long loan. The 23-year-old, who spent part of last season at the League Two club, returns from the Welsh side for the 2026-27 campaign after Wrexhams promotion to the Championship.

Faal, a 1.96m right-footed striker with dual Gambian and English nationality, joins Port Vale with his loan running until 30 June 2027. His parent club Wrexham originally secured him from West Bromwich Albions under-21s in August 2024.

The forward has built a reputation in the lower leagues as a consistent scorer, with 14 goals and two assists in 53 League Two appearances and 11 goals in 26 National League North matches. He has also registered 14 goals in 31 Premier League 2 outings, underlining his record at development level, and has experience across the EFL Trophy, FA Cup and EFL Cup.

Faals career has included a series of loans designed to give him first-team exposure, taking in spells at Doncaster Rovers, Walsall, AFC Fylde and Telford United before his permanent move into the EFL with Wrexham. He was part of the West Bromwich Albion under-23 side that won the Premier League Cup in 2021-22.

Port Vale, who operate in League Two, will look to make use of Faals aerial presence and EFL experience during his second stint at the club, with the striker now officially on loan from Championship side Wrexham for the entirety of the 2026-27 season.
