Saber Hraiech: Italy-Tunisia midfielder linked with Campobasso move from free agency

Italy-Tunisia midfielder Saber Hraiech, currently without a club, is being linked with a move to Serie C side Campobasso as the Molise outfit look to add experience to their central midfield options.

Hraiech, 30, became a free agent on 1 July after leaving Trapani and would be available without a transfer fee, a factor understood to be appealing to Campobasso as they shape their squad for the new Serie C B campaign. His current market valuation is 200,000.

The Mazara del Vallo-born midfielder has built a substantial career in the Italian lower leagues, with more than 170 appearances in Serie C B alone and over 60 further outings in Serie C A. He also has Serie B experience from an earlier spell higher up the pyramid, giving him a breadth of exposure across the professional tiers.

Hraiechs recent seasons have included time at Cesena and Padova, where he collected silverware in the third tier. He lifted the Coppa Italia Serie C with Padova in 2021-22 before winning the Serie C Supercup and the Serie C Girone B title with Cesena in 2023-24, achievements that underline his familiarity with promotion-chasing environments.

After a loan spell at AS Gubbio in 2025-26, Hraiech returned to Trapani before his deal there came to an end this summer. With no contract currently tying him down, Campobasso are weighing up whether to move for the right-footed central midfielder as they seek to strengthen ahead of the new season.
