Nassim Sioud: Diyala sign Tunisian centre-forward from Naft Missan in Iraq Stars League move
Diyala have signed Tunisian centre-forward Nassim Sioud from Iraq Stars League rivals Naft Missan. The 28-year-old joins in a completed move within the Iraqi top flight after spending the second half of last season with Naft Missan.
Sioud, who was born on 19 June 1998, moves on the back of a spell in which he has become familiar with Iraqi football. Across his time in the Iraq Stars League, he has made 49 appearances, scoring nine goals and providing two assists, adding to his previous experience in North Africa.
Before arriving in Iraq, Sioud built his career in the Tunisian Ligue 1. He made 62 appearances in the division, scoring 15 goals and amassing more than 3,000 minutes of game time, as well as featuring in the Tunisian Cup. His performances there earned him a move from US Ben Guerdane to Al-Najaf FC in January 2025, marking his first step into Iraqi football.
Sioud joined Naft Missan on a free transfer from Al-Najaf FC in January 2026, remaining in the Iraq Stars League and adjusting to the demands of the competition. He now takes the next step in his career by switching to Diyala, who compete in the same division.
Primarily deployed as a centre-forward, Sioud adds further attacking depth to Diyalas squad as they prepare for the upcoming Iraq Stars League campaign, completing a confirmed move from Naft Missan.
