Patrick Nkoa: La Louviere sign former Eintracht Braunschweig defender on free transfer

La Louviere have signed centre-back Patrick Nkoa from Eintracht Braunschweig on a free transfer, with the defender agreeing a contract until 30 June 2028.

The 26-year-old, who holds both German and Cameroonian nationality, strengthens the Belgian clubs defensive options as they prepare for life in the Jupiler Pro League. Nkoa arrives after his spell in German football came to an end this summer, allowing La Louviere to secure him without a transfer fee.

Standing at 1.92m and preferring to play on the right side of central defence, Nkoa brings experience from across the German pyramid. He has featured in both the 2. Bundesliga and 3. Liga, as well as in the Regionalliga and Oberliga, building a profile as a regular starter over several seasons.

Nkoa joined Eintracht Braunschweig from Alemannia Aachen in August 2025, having previously moved to Aachen from Hansa Rostock the year before. His only transfer for a fee so far came in 2023, when he left Rot-Wei Erfurt for Hansa Rostock for 125,000.

Across league and cup competitions in Germany, Nkoa has accumulated close to 120 senior appearances, including games in regional cup tournaments such as the Thuringenpokal and Mittelrheinpokal. He has also contributed goals from the back line, scoring in both the Regionalliga Nordost and the NOFV-Oberliga Sud.

The move to La Louviere marks Nkoas first club outside Germany and ties him to the Belgian side for the next two seasons.
