Josue Chibozo: Benin forward leaves Amiens and becomes free agent after contract expiry

Benin forward Josue Chibozo has left French side Amiens SC and is now a free agent after his contract with the Ligue 3 club came to an end, completing a permanent departure on 8 July 2026.

The 23-year-old second striker, who joined Amiens from Juventus second team Juve Next Gen in 2023 for 1 million after an initial loan spell, is now available to sign for a new club without a transfer fee. His exit follows a period in which he struggled to secure a long-term role in France after multiple moves across Europe.

Chibozo spent the second half of the 2025-26 season on loan at Spanish side Unionistas CF, before returning to Amiens at the end of the campaign. Prior to that, he had also been loaned to Portuguese outfit Pacos Ferreira in 2023-24, adding experience in Liga Portugal 2 to his time in France and Italy.

Born in Adrome, Benin, and standing at 1.75m, Chibozo is a right-footed attacker who has featured mainly as a second striker. He built his reputation in youth and reserve competitions, scoring regularly for Juventus at Under-17 and Under-19 level and impressing in the Primavera 1 and UEFA Youth League before moving into senior football.

Across his early career, Chibozo has accumulated game time in Ligue 2, Spains third tier and Portugals second division, as well as in domestic cups, giving him a varied grounding in European football by his early 20s. His market value was last assessed at 150,000 in June 2026.

Chibozos departure from Amiens confirms the end of his spell with the French club and his status as a free agent ahead of the new season.
