Raymond Asante: Ghanaian forward joins Francs Borains on loan from Charleroi

Francs Borains have signed Ghanaian second striker Raymond Asante from R Charleroi SC on a loan deal. The 22-year-old moves from the Jupiler Pro League side to the Challenger Pro League club for the 2026-27 season, strengthening Francs Borains attacking options.

Asante, a left-footed forward who can operate off the main striker, heads to Francs Borains after spending the second half of last season on loan at Patro Eisden. He had returned to Charleroi at the end of that spell before being sent out again in search of regular game time.

The Accra-born attacker has already gained experience across Belgiums top two tiers. He has featured in the Jupiler Pro League and the Challenger Pro League for Charleroi and Patro Eisden, as well as in promotion play-offs in the second tier. At third-tier level with Francs Borains current division rivals, he has produced a solid scoring record, including a run of five goals in four promotion play-off matches in the 1ste Nationale.

Before moving to Belgium, Asante developed in Italy with Udineses youth system, playing in Primavera 1 and Primavera 2. His most prolific spell there came in the Primavera 2, where he scored 18 goals and provided nine assists in 27 appearances, underlining his ability to contribute both goals and creativity from a support-striker role.

Asante, who stands at 1.72m, will spend the 2026-27 campaign with Francs Borains on loan, with his registration remaining owned by Charleroi.
