Mohamed Medfai: Lokomotiv Sofia sign Tunisian-French winger from Olym. Charleroi

Lokomotiv Sofia have signed Tunisian-French left winger Mohamed Medfai from Belgian side Olym. Charleroi. The 25-year-old joins the Bulgarian club in a completed move to the efbet Liga after two seasons in Belgian football.

Medfai, who plays predominantly on the left flank and favours his right foot, arrives in Sofia with experience across several European leagues. He most recently featured in the Belgian 1ste Nationale and Challenger Pro League, where he accumulated more than 80 league appearances across his time in Belgium and earlier spells, contributing a steady supply of goals and assists from wide areas.

Born in Marseille and standing at 1.84m, Medfai started his senior career in Poland with Olimpia Grudziadz after leaving the youth ranks of GFC Ajaccio. He later moved to Portugal with Maritimo, representing both their B team and under-23 side, before joining Tunisian club US Monastir.

From Monastir he returned to European football, signing for Olym. Charleroi, initially on a free transfer. In Belgium he gained regular minutes in league and cup competitions, including the Croky Cup, while also featuring in promotion play-off fixtures at third-tier level.

Medfais market value was most recently assessed at around 200,000, underlining Lokomotiv Sofias decision to add a versatile wide attacker with experience in France, Poland, Portugal, Tunisia and Belgium. The winger now continues his career in the Bulgarian top flight following his move from Olym. Charleroi to Lokomotiv Sofia.
