Arthur Atta: Aston Villa linked with move for Udinese and France-Benin midfielder
Aston Villa have been linked with a move for France-Benin midfielder Arthur Atta, who is currently on the books at Serie A side Udinese.
The 23-year-old central midfielder, who stands at 1.89m and is right-footed, has seen his reputation rise sharply in Italy, with his market value increasing to 25m as of late May 2026. His performances in Udine have drawn attention from the Premier League, with Villa among the clubs monitoring his situation.
Atta joined Udinese from French side Metz, initially on loan in August 2024 before the move was made permanent at the start of the 2025-26 season. During that period his valuation grew rapidly, climbing from 1m in mid-2024 to 15m by the end of that year and then to its current 25m figure.
Born in Rennes on 14 January 2003, Atta came through the ranks in France and established himself at Metz before earning his move to Serie A. His dual nationalities of France and Benin, and his development in both Ligue 1 and Serie A environments, add to his appeal for clubs seeking a physically strong, technically capable presence in central midfield.
No contract details have been made public, and there is no indication that talks between Udinese and Aston Villa have progressed to an advanced stage.
For now, Atta remains an Udinese player with Aston Villa listed among the clubs showing interest in a potential transfer.
