Kaizer Chiefs confirm Al Kholood friendly ahead of Spain pre-season camp
Kaizer Chiefs will face Saudi Pro League outfit Al Kholood in a confirmed pre-season friendly as part of their preparations for the 2026/27 campaign, with the match set to take place during their training camp in Murcia, Spain.
The Siya crew has confirmed that Amakhosi will meet Al Kholood on Wednesday, 15 July at 11:00 at the Pinatar Arena Football Center. Supporters will be allowed to attend the fixture for free.
Chiefs are scheduled to hold their pre-season camp in Murcia from 10 to 19 July, with the team set to travel to Spain this week. The Al Kholood encounter is currently the only confirmed friendly match for coach Fernando Da Cruz and his technical team ahead of the trip.
The fixture will provide Chiefs with a strong test against Saudi Arabian top-flight opposition. Al Kholood finished 14th in the Saudi Pro League last season, competing in one of the most financially powerful and rapidly developing leagues in world football.
The Glamour Boys could still add more friendly matches to their schedule while in Spain. Several clubs, including FC Andorra, Leyton Orient F.C., Lincoln City F.C., Bristol City F.C. and Stockport County F.C., are also expected to use the Pinatar Arena facilities during the same period, creating opportunities for additional fixtures.
The Murcia camp will mark Da Cruz’s first full pre-season programme in charge of Chiefs, giving him an important opportunity to introduce his tactical ideas, evaluate his squad and prepare the team for the challenges of the new season.
While further opponents may still be confirmed before or during the camp, the Al Kholood fixture gives Chiefs a guaranteed competitive test as they continue their preparations for the upcoming campaign.
Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates have confirmed the departure of seven players ahead of the 2026/27 season.
