Soufiane Benjdida wins top scorer in Moroccan league

MAS Fes striker Soufiane Benjdida has been crowned top scorer of the Moroccan Professional Football League for the current season after delivering a remarkable campaign in front of goal.

The prolific forward finished the season with an impressive tally of 20 goals, comfortably ahead of the rest of the league’s attacking stars and further establishing himself as one of the standout performers in Moroccan football.

Benjdida’s consistency and clinical finishing played a crucial role for MAS Fes throughout the campaign, with the striker proving decisive on numerous occasions as he led his club’s attacking line with authority and confidence.

Hassania Agadir forward Baba Bello Elo finished second in the scoring charts with 16 goals after an equally impressive season, while Mehdi Bellouk of Ittihad Yaacoub El Mansour secured third place with 13 goals.

Younes Dahmani of Ittihad Sportif Touarga ended the campaign with 12 goals to occupy fourth place, while RS Berkane attacker Oussama El Maloui rounded out the top five with 10 goals.

Benjdida’s achievement highlights his growing influence in Moroccan football and confirms his emergence as one of the country’s most dangerous forwards. His performances throughout the season have attracted significant praise due to his movement, composure in front of goal, and ability to deliver consistently under pressure.

Despite his exceptional campaign, the all-time single-season scoring record in the Moroccan league remains untouched. Legendary KAC Kenitra striker Mohamed Bousati still holds the historic benchmark after scoring 25 goals during the 1981-82 season — a record that has stood for more than four decades.

Bousati remains one of the most iconic figures in Moroccan football history, with his extraordinary scoring exploits continuing to be regarded as one of the greatest achievements in the national championship.

Although Benjdida fell short of matching that legendary mark, his 20-goal season represents one of the strongest attacking performances in recent years and could signal the beginning of an even greater rise for the MAS Fes striker.

With his confidence growing and his reputation continuing to rise, Benjdida now appears poised to become one of the leading faces of Moroccan football in the coming seasons.
